Open Call for External Evaluators

Are you a recognised expert in climate research?

The Gaia Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme at SDU (www.thegaiaproject.eu) is looking for you!. We invite you to apply or recommend qualified climate-focused researchers from your network to support this initiative.

About Gaia

Gaia is an EU co-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme designed to provide 15 two-year postdoctoral positions (in two cohorts) across all disciplines at SDU, focusing on innovative, climate-related research.

Why We Need You

We are looking for external, internationally recognised experts in climate-related fields to peer-review applications. Your expertise will help us maintain a fair, transparent, and efficient recruitment process, aligned with the European Charter of Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

Peer-Review Process

  • All applications are pre-screened and checked for eligibility by SDU.

  • Applications are categorized into five fields: Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities.

  • As an evaluator, you will remotely review assigned applications based on set evaluation criteria and contribute to a consensus report.

  • One evaluator from each field will join the Selection Committee for interviews, with a maximum of six candidates per field.

Responsibilities

  • Peer-review pre-screened applications.

  • Contribute to a consensus report for each applicant.

  • Availability in late January/February is required.

  • Optional: Participate in the interview process.

Benefits

  • Contribute to shaping climate-relevant research at an international level.

  • Gain recognition as an evaluator on our website and LinkedIn page.

  • Get an inside view of the selection process of an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship.

We're currently exploring if we can also offer an honorarium for their participation.

Conflict of Interest

To ensure impartiality, evaluators must confirm they have no conflict of interest. All evaluators will be required to sign a no-conflict-of-interest statement. Please find more information here.

How to Apply

We kindly ask that you fill out a brief form to provide us with more information about your background and areas of expertise. Please don’t hesitate to contact our project manager, Annabell Moser, at Annabellm@sdu.dk if you any further questions.

Thank you for helping us advance climate research through the Gaia Fellowship Programme!
